Why Qalu

A monitor that sees, hears and understands

Most monitoring tools count words. Qalu reads text, images and video, and works out what your audience means.

  • We see and hear, not just read

Qalu reads the text inside images and describes them, transcribes and summarizes video, then labels it all alongside every other item.

    Coverage
  • Arabic as your audience writes it

Modern Standard Arabic and the Egyptian, Gulf, Levantine, Iraqi and Maghrebi dialects, plus English, with an Arabic translation of posts in any other language.

  • Sentiment from context, not keywords

Tone toward your brand specifically. Sarcasm is caught by meaning, a reported claim is told apart from a direct accusation, and every label shows the phrases behind it.

  • Talk to your data like your comms lead

Ask in plain language and get figures, a chart and a citation for every point.

  • Early warning, before the story grows

A sudden spike, a negative turn, a post spreading fast or a crisis at a competitor. Alerts reach you in the app, by email and on your phone, and urgent ones escalate if nobody opens them.

  • See who drives the conversation

The influencers in your story and how it spread: who posted first, who replied or reposted, and who carried it furthest.

  • Every figure leads to the items it was built from.
  • A confidence score for every label, and a log of every correction.
  • A log of every search and export, with who ran it.

Questions

Before you decide

Does Qalu analyze images and video?

Yes. It reads the text inside images and describes them, and transcribes and summarizes video when the file is available, then labels them with everything else. This runs within a monthly allowance for each account.

What counts as an item?

Any unique record Qalu collects and saves in your project: a news article, a post, a comment or a review. A duplicate within the same project counts once, anything removed by your filters is not charged, and analysis, reports and exports use none of your quota.

Does the service cover print, television and radio?

Not yet. Qalu covers online news sites, social platforms, comments, map and app store reviews, and YouTube transcripts where available, for channel archives and single-video analysis. Each project shows its coverage clearly.

How does Qalu handle the dialects?

Qalu analyzes text in Modern Standard Arabic and the main dialects, and shows a confidence score on every label. Corrections your team makes in review mode improve future labels.

Does Qalu publish replies on our behalf?

No. It drafts statements, replies and talking points. Nothing is published until your team has reviewed and approved it, and then only from your own accounts.

Who owns the data, and how long is it kept?

Your organization owns its data. It stays in the data vault for the retention period set for your account, and you can export all of it at any time, including when you cancel. The privacy policy gives the details.

How do we pay?

By card for monthly or annual subscriptions and for extra credit, or by invoice and bank transfer for organizations that need a contract or a purchase order.
